KS3 Learners/Level 1

Come aboard for a fascinating voyage into one of history’s most famous disasters and uncover the real reasons the “unsinkable” ship met its tragic fate.

Learners will:

  • Discover the Titanic's design, who it was made for and why the way the ship was built was so important.
  • Investigate the key figures involved in the disaster and consider who was really to blame.
  • Piece together a timeline of events on the night the Titanic made its' fateful voyage.
  • Analyse real historical sources, and use these to form their own opinions.
  • Compare cruise experiences in 1912 and today and consider what we have learned as a result of the disaster.

With film clips, creative activities, and plenty of opportunities to think like a historian, this unit makes history come alive – iceberg not included.
